Deco Diamonds Cardigan
What happens if you decrease 1 stitch at each end of a row of an odd number of stitches until you have 1 stitch left? You will create a triangle. BUT if you decrease those 2 stitches in the middle of your row, you will create a square. The central double decreases create a corner in the middle of your row. Turn your square on end so the corner is at the bottom and you have a diamond. That is the idea behind Maureen's latest domino design, inspired by the work of Horst Schultz. A simple stripe sequence, using one colour at a time for each row, gives these diamonds a complex, "Art Deco" look as they are layered by knitting units together as you go. Knit with Shelridge Farm 100% Wool in 3 colours.
